Non-clinical Career Ladder

Here are the non-clinical options in the healthcare field

Management
Includes planning or deciding upon business goals and the methods to achieve them; organizing, or determining the best allocation of people and resources; directing, or motivating, instructing, and supervising workers assigned to the activity; and control, or analyzing metrics during business activities to ensure completion of tasks and identify areas for improvement.
Executive Assistant
Employee of a company who supports the executive, CEO, or manager and has ability to make decisions that affect the company. In addition, the executive assistant will also perform similar responsibilities as an administrative assistant, involving research, communications, correspondence, and office management. In some organizations, the executive assistant will attend meetings or conferences in place of the executive.
Clinical Coordinator
Clinical Coordinator is basically an individual responsible for overseeing the workflow and/or daily activities of any healthcare facility. They have to collaborate with different departments and community with admins, clinical staff, and all professionals involved in ensuring the best patient care possible
Warehouse Worker (Supply Chain)
Conducts daily inventory, replenishes supplies and maintains related records. Receives, checks in, stores, issues and delivers equipment and supplies. Verifies and sorts charges. Participates in the orientation and training of other personnel. Transports patients and equipment; picks up soiled supplies and equipment. Assists, sorts and verifies charges for supplies, equipment and services delivered. Cleans, disinfects and stores equipment. Monitors stock levels and notifies supervisor of items in short supply.
Janitor (EVS)
The environmental service worker maintains environmental and infection control standards within established policies and procedures of the health care center. The position performs a variety of general cleaning tasks to maintain patient rooms, offices, hallways and other assigned areas of the facility.
Navigator
Customer Navigators are responsible for providing exceptional customer service to patients and their families while on-site. Customer Navigators provide the personal connection to the hospital by offering face-to-face hospitality, amenities and assistance. Customer Navigator responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, supervising volunteers, greeting patients, navigation assistance, and providing assistance to families. Customer Navigators must have basic computer skills to track patients, document visits and read/write brief reports.

Food Services

Cook
Cook and serve food for patients, cafeteria and catering. Maintain menus with accuracy, consistency, eye appeal and proper portion control. Comply with Food Safety Code and HACCP standards consistently. Be involved in the development of recipes, menus and food presentation. Monitor food quality standards to ensure consistency and highest quality standards.
Server
perform a variety of tasks, from preparing the food, stocking supplies, serving, charging people for their food, handling cash, credit cards, and a cash register, cleaning tables and counters, resetting tables, greeting customers and answering questions. Food servers work on their feet for long periods and are experts at customer service.
Dishwasher
clears dirty dishes and trays from tables; cleans tables, chairs, sinks, counters, fountains, and serving area; sweeps and mops floors; wipes spills; collects and removes trash; replaces trash can liners; washes trays and carts; sorts and stacks dishes, glasses, and utensils; washes dishes, pots, and pans; fills and empties dishwasher and stacks clean dishes, glasses, and cups; cleans coffee pots, blenders, pop machine dispensers, ice cream and hot chocolate machines, and other commercial equipment.
