Clinical Career Ladder

Here are the clinical options in the healthcare field

Registered Nurse (RN)
Registered nurses assist physicians in providing treatment to patients suffering from various medical conditions. They may administer medication, monitor patient recovery and progress, and educate patients and their families on disease prevention and post-hospital treatment.
Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)
Licensed vocational nurses, often known as LVNs, provide basic bedside care to patients supervised by registered nurses and medical practitioners. The term is specific to Texas and California. In other states, licensed vocational nurses are known as licensed practical nurses.
Medical Assistant (MA)
Medical assistants perform routine administrative and clinical tasks to keep the offices of physicians and other health practitioners running smoothly. The duties of medical assistants vary from office to office, depending on the location and size of the facility and the practitioner’s specialty.
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
A Certified Nursing Assistant’s main role is to provide basic care to patients, as well as assist them in daily activities they might have trouble with on their own, such as bathing. Because of the personal nature of the job, a certified nursing assistant job description must include people skills and the ability to be compassionate and enjoy helping others. In nursing or long-term care facilities, a I is often a patient’s main caregiver.
Patient Care Companion (PCC)
Patient care companions monitor patients with behavioral/cognitive issues or other areas of potential concern who need to be observed on a continual basis in order to quickly identify circumstances that could impact their ongoing safety and care.
Unit Clerk (USA)
The unit clerk is responsible for performing a variety of clerical duties relating to the updating, organizing, and triaging information on the nursing units. In addition, unit clerk coordinates work within other units and departments; reporting pertinent information to the immediate supervisor; responding to inquiries and requests from staff personnel, etc.

Helps patients by transporting them into, around, and out of the health care facility.
